The Passing Playbook – Isaac Fitzsimons
At Oakley, Spencer seems to have it all: more accepting classmates, a decent shot at a starting position on the boy’s soccer team, great new friends, and maybe even something more than friendship with one of his teammates. The problem is, no one at Oakley knows Spencer is trans – he’s passing.
Looking for books to read after Date Me Bryson Keller, then this is one of them. Set in high school, finding impossible love and with a decent ending that they all deserved. It’s a must read in my opinion.

Only Mostly Devastated – Sophie Gonzales
It was the very last Wednesday of August when I realized Disney had been lying to me about Happily Ever Afters. Because you see, I was four days into mine, and my prince was nowhere to be found.
I loved this book. It made me cry, it made me smile and it was relatable, who hasn’t been ghosted? This is one of the books like Date Me Bryson Keller that I love, it’s set in a high school, it’s sweet and the romance is to die for! What’s not to love?

You’re the One That I Want – Simon James Green
Freddie is unremarkable – too unremarkable. He doesn’t stand out in any way, and in fact teachers and fellow students keep forgetting who he is. Even his mum thinks he’s a disappointment, and spends almost all her time at work, producing a TV show.
It took me way too long to figure out the name was based on Grease and I feel terrible about it. This book is similar to Date Me Bryson Keller, it’s got its high moments and its low moments. It made me cry and cheer. Simon James Green is amazing and I love his work almost as much as Kevin Van Whyes.

Here The Whole Time – Vitor Martins
Felipe is fat. And he doesn’t need anyone to remind him, which is, of course, what everyone does. That’s why he’s been waiting for summer: a break from school and the classmates who tease him incessantly. His plans include catching up on TV, finishing his TBR pile, and watching YouTube tutorials on skills he’ll never actually put into practice.
The romance plot is very similar to the one in Date Me Bryson Keller which is why I put it on the list of books you should read like Date Me Bryson Keller. It’s super sweet, romantic and totally relatable in my opinion.

Red, White & Royal Blue – Casey McQuiston
Alex Claremont-Diaz is handsome, charismatic, a genius – pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House ever since his mother first became President of the United States. There’s only one problem. When the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an altercation between Alex and Prince Henry, U.S./British relations take a turn for the worse.
Just like Date Me Bryson Keller, this book is one of my favourites, I even have the hardback. I wish that Casey McQuiston and Kevin Van Whye would write a book together!

Henry Hamlet’s Heart – Rhiannon Wilde
Henry Hamlet doesn’t know what he wants after school ends. It’s his last semester of high school, and all he’s sure of is his uncanny ability to make situations awkward. Luckily, he can always hide behind his enigmatic best friend, Len. They’ve been friends since forever, but Len is mysterious and Henry is clumsy, and Len is a heartthrob and Henry is a neurotic mess. Somehow it’s always worked.
Henry Hamlet’s Heart made me cry just like Date Me Bryson Keller, that’s why I’ve included it in this post. Plus it has similarities and is just an amazing book.
