Disney Springs Planet Hollywood Review

Visiting the Disney World parks was an amazing experience but at some point, you have to eat. We looked for the best place to have a birthday meal as we both had big birthdays on this trip and we decided to go with Disney Planet Hollywood and we have a few things to say about it.

I had no idea what Planet Hollywood was until Matt told me all about it, who owns it, how it’s run and why the menu looks so amazing. I wrongly thought that Planet Hollywood was just another Hard Rock Cafe wannabe, but I was wrong.

Who Owns Planet Hollywood Florida

Earl Enterprises corporation is the company that owns and operates a variety of restaurants, hotels, and casinos. In addition to Planet Hollywood, Earl Enterprises also owns the Earl of Sandwich chain of restaurants.

The Planet Hollywood restaurant in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort is one of the few Planet Hollywood restaurants that is not owned and operated by Caesars Entertainment. Caesars Entertainment acquired Planet Hollywood in 2010, but it sold off the Florida location in 2019.

Planet Hollywood Dress Code

Planet Hollywood Disney Springs has a relaxed dress code. Guests are welcome to wear casual clothing, such as jeans, shorts, and T-shirts. However, guests are not permitted to wear swimwear, tank tops, or clothing that is excessively revealing.

Although Planet Hollywood is a friendly environment that caters to everyone, it doesn’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable while enjoying their food. I’m sure if we rocked up in flip-flops, swim shorts and no t-shirt people wouldn’t be happy about it and that goes for everyone, so make sure you dress like a decent human being.

Here are some of the things that are not allowed at Planet Hollywood Disney Springs:

• Swimwear
• Tank tops
• Clothing that is excessively revealing
• Clothing that is dirty or damaged
• Clothing that has offensive language or images
• Clothing that is intended to obstruct the view of other guests (huge top hats for example)

Guests who are not dressed appropriately may be asked to change their clothing or leave the restaurant. You don’t want to end up having to spend hundreds of dollars in the gift shop because you didn’t wear appropriate clothing.

Planet Hollywood is located in Disney Springs, you don’t have to have a ticket to visit Disney Springs and anyone can enjoy the restaurants and shops at Disney Springs.

The Planet Hollywood restaurant is huge and right near the Disney Springs entrance of the Disney Springs Park.

If you’re looking to book Planet Hollywood in Florida, go for it. There were loads of things we really liked about this restaurant, it’s not the cheapest at Disney Springs but it’s well worth it. I’d rather have a top end burger instead of another Disney t-shirt anyway!

Disney Springs Planet Hollywood Food

The food at Planet Hollywood is worth the price. We found the restaurant to be one of the best that we ate at on our holiday. The burgers were cooked to specification, the loaded mashed potatoes were amazing and they have some amazing cocktails on the menu but we didn’t try any of them.

If there were two items on the menu we’d have to recommend it would be the Hollywood Planet loaded mashed potatoes and the Planet Hollywood brownie sundae but you’ll have to share the sundae between two because it’s huge. We got a few looks from people around us when eating the dessert and some people wishing us luck.

Disney Springs Planet Hollywood Price

As you can see from the menu, there are a lot of food items that you can pick from not everything is on the list above and if you’re looking for the full menu, take a look at the Planet Hollywood website. We decided to get re-fill drinks (2 x $4.49)

We had the Planet Hollywood World Famous Chicken Crunch ($12.99) as a starter, Bacon Mac&Cheese Burgers for a main (2 x £21.99) which we got a Loaded Baked Potato ($7.99) and Loaded Mashed Potatoes ($7.99) with them. For dessert, we decided to share the Brownie Sundae to share ($19.99).

In total, we spend $112.80 on food and drinks and we think every penny was well spent, we also gave a $25 tip to our amazing waitress who was in training and did a great job.

Disney Springs Planet Hollywood Service

Disney Springs Planet Hollywood has great customer service. We found the staff to be attentive, always making sure that we had drinks on their way when ours were getting low, they were happy to take any specific changes needed for the food due to allergies and were very polite.

I decided that because it was Matt’s birthday he should have a Happy Birthday on the big TVs and they were more than happy to help. They made the meal that little bit more special.

There is a Planet Hollywood gift shop at Disney Springs. There is a gift shop downstairs in the main waiting area and a gift shop up the stairs/elevator. You can get all kinds of amazing merchandise, we decided not to get anything as we wanted to spend more on the food.

Make sure that you tell them if you have any requirements or requests when you book. We asked for a booth when we booked that wasn’t attached to another table as I get terrible anxiety in situations like that, they made sure we had a booth so there was no stress.
