Disney World Animal Kingdom – Everything You Need To Know About Disney Animal Kingdom
It’s a shame to say but Animal Kingdom was our least liked Disney World park. It had several flaws that were just unforgivable. The photo opportunities were endless, yet there were hardly any Disney photographers to take amazing photos for people who paid for the memory maker.
The rides were a bit of a letdown as well and it just wasn’t as good as the other parks, which means it’s in last place when it comes to the Two Gay Dudes park rankings. However, this information post should have all the Animal Kingdom information you need and hopefully, you’ll have a much better time than we did.
Disney World Animal Kingdom Information
Although Walt Disney World Animal Kingdom is a little naff, you still need a lot of information if you’re looking to visit. There was information we searched for so we thought it was a good idea to put all the Animal Kingdom information in one post to help out.
Disney World Animal Kingdom Park Address
Animal Kingdom have their own parking, every park does. We got a little lost on our way however due to the sat nav not having a clue. If you’re looking at how to park for Animal Kingdom we have some suggestions. You can put the address in your sat nav but also make sure you watch for the road signs because your sat nav might lie to you.
How Much Is Parking For Animal Kingdom?
Animal Kingdom parking prices are the same as the other parks, which means some of the prices increase for the weekend which is so annoying.
Parking prices vary. On a normal weekday, preferred is £45, Standard is £25, and oversized vehicles are £30. So it pays to go on a weekday when you’re paying less if you want preferred parking that is. Disney World parks charge more on weekends and national holidays where preferred parking is £50 instead and the rest of the parking charges stay the same price.
What Time Does Disney Animal Kingdom Open?
The Animal Kingdom opening times will vary depending on the day of the week and if anything special is taking place and national holidays.
Animal Kingdom opens Monday to Thursday (off-season and normal crowds): 9 am to 7 pm. Animal Kingdom opens Friday and Sunday (off-season and normal crowds): from 8 am to 7 pm. Saturday and peak-season dates: 8 am to 8 pm
I would suggest getting there early to beat the crowds and get in sooner.
Is Disney Animal Kingdom Closing
Disney Animal Kingdom is not closing. That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if it did close or if they started to downsize the park as it doesn’t get as much attention as the other parks and it doesn’t seem as though Disney invest much in it in terms of ride updates and the amount of staff present.
Why Is Disney Animal Kingdom Closing?
It isn’t.
Are There Animals At Animal Kingdom?
Yes, there are all sorts of amazing animals at Animal Kingdom. We suggest going on the safari tour where you can see Hippos, Giraffes, Flamingos and loads more animals. They also have an insect sanctuary which includes Spiders, Toads, Snakes and more!
Is Disney animal kingdom a zoo? Yes, kind of. Animal Kingdom has so many animals you could easily call it a zoo, they even have Gorillas! However, Animal Kingdom is still a Disney park so it’s technically a theme park with animals.
Where Is Disney Animal Kingdom Filmed?
Where is Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom filmed? It was filmed in Animal Kingdom. All of the animals you see in the Animal Kingdom series are at the Animal Kingdom Disney park so you can get up close with them and see where all the magic takes place.
The series gives you an insight into the park and all the animals that reside there, I would suggest visiting if you’re a fan of the series.
Who Narrates Disney Animal Kingdom
Josh Gad narrates the Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. He’s a great narrator and we love him.

What To Do At Disney Animal Kingdom?
There is quite a bit to do at Animal Kingdom if you’re a fan of animals and learning all about animals. They have some amazing shows and the staff really know what they’re talking about which is great to see and of course, hear.
If you’re looking for a more personal park, Animal Kingdom Disney park is the one you want. Now let’s talk about some of the stuff to do at Disney Magic Kingdom.
Are There Characters At Animal Kingdom
If you’re wondering if there are Disney characters at Animal Kingdom, yes there are. However, there aren’t a lot of photo pass opportunities when it comes to meeting them which is a big shame. Some of the characters that you can meet include Chip and Dale, Donald Duck, Goofy, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Pluto, that being said you can meet these characters at EPCOT if you wanted so don’t go to Animal Kingdom just to meet these characters.
What Are The Best Rides At Animal Kingdom?
I wouldn’t really call the attractions at Animal Kingdom rides but that is how Disney talks about them, so alas I must. The rides at Animal Kingdom are for the whole family. They are informative and fun and we had our favourites that’s for sure.
Take a look at our favourite Animal Kingdom Rides. These in our opinion are the best rides at Animal Kingdom.
- Kali River Rapids
- Avatar Flight Of Passage
- Kilimanjaro Safaris
- Expedition Everest
The Kali River Rapids is so fun we went on it twice, make sure you waterproof all of your belongings or put them in a locker or give them to someone not going on the ride. You will get soaked and unfortunately they don’t have dryers so you will be walking around wet for a couple of hours.
Is the Avatar ride at Animal Kingdom good? Yes, however, it has its issues. The ride seats are very small so if you’re plus size you may have issues getting on it. Thankfully there is a tester seat outside of the ride so you can test or at least know from looking at it. This saves being in the queue for hours and then not being able to ride.
What Are The Best Attractions At Animal Kingdom?
There are loads of fun and interactive attractions at Animal Kingdom that aren’t considered rides. We loved these the most, they were creative, imaginative and you learn without being bored, what’s not to like. They’re also great for children and keeping them entertained and we all know that can be a challenge!
The Best Shows At Animal Kingdom can be found below!
- Festival of the Lion King
- It’s Tough To Be A Bug
- Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail
You have to attend the festival of the Lion King show, it’s amazing, bright, loud and there’s fire! The whole family will love it no matter the age, just be sure if you sing along you’re in time or the audience might hear you, which may have happened to me!
How Much Time Do You Need For Disney Animal Kingdom
If you’re looking at how to do Disney Animal Kingdom there are a few things you need to know. First off, there aren’t many memory maker opportunities so you won’t be spending all day having your photo taken like you can at other parks which we found a huge shame.
The rides and attractions have short waiting times so you won’t be queued up either which is nice. The most popular rides included Avatar and Kali River Rapids so plan in advance if you’re looking to go on them.
How Big Is Disney Animal Kingdom
Disney Animal Kingdom is one of the smaller Disney parks. If you’re wondering, can you do Disney Animal Kingdom in a day, yes you can. As long as you plan in advance what rides you want to go on and everything you want to do, you’ll only need around 8 hours.
Does Disney Animal Kingdom Have Fireworks?
Disney Animal Kingdom does not have fireworks, unlike the other parks. If you’re looking for the best Disney firework display, go to Magic Kingdom.
Is Disney Animal Kingdom Worth It?
This is where our opinions are divided. Our Animal Kingdom tickets were included in the package we purchased however, the question of is Animal Kingdom worth getting tickets for is a whole other story.
The rides and attractions in Animal Kingdom are fun but the photo opportunities are limited and mainly found outside the park at the entrance. It feels that Disney invest less time and money in Animal Kingdom and it shows.
There were also only one Animal Kingdom snack that we wanted to try, which was the Dino-Bite Freshly Baked Chocolate-Chip Cookie, as all of the others looked rubbish and overpriced. However, if you’re looking for the best Disney park with children I would suggest either Animal Kingdom or Magic Kingdom.
