Disney World Hollywood Studios Orlando – Everything You Need To Know About Disney Hollywood Studios Florida
Hollywood Studios Orlando was one of our favourite parks, it has so much to do and is so fun! We spent the whole day there and if we had more time on our holiday we would have gone back although we tried to do a park a day, it was difficult to do everything we wanted in a day but we tried.
Disney World Hollywood Studios Orlando Parking
I’ve seen questions like is Disney Hollywood Studios in Epcot or is Disney Hollywood Studios in Magic Kingdom and the answer is no. Disney Hollywood Studios is its own park. Disney separates all their parks and they all have their own individual parking. As the parks get so busy they need their own location and parking to accommodate everyone visiting.
Disney Hollywood Studios in Orlando is easy to get to and easy to park at, in fact, it’s one of the easiest parks for parking. The sat nav will take you there without any issues and although it looks like one of the smallest parking lots, it’s huge.
How Much Is Disney Hollywood Studios Parking in Florida?
Orlando Hollywood Springs parking costs are the same as the other parks. Thankfully they don’t hike the prices up if a park is more popular, although they do increase prices for national holidays and weekends.
On a normal weekday, preferred is £45, Standard is £25, and oversized vehicles are £30. So it pays to go on a weekday when you’re paying less if you want preferred parking that is. Disney World parks charge more on weekends and national holidays where preferred parking is £50 instead and the rest of the parking charges stay the same price.

As there is so much to do at Orlando Hollywood Studios I would suggest getting there early, the queue times do get long as the rides are so much fun!
Is Disney Hollywood Studios Free?
No. Disney Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida is not free. It would be nice if it was free but it’s one of the Disney parks that you have to pay to get into. If you’re looking for a free Disney park you can visit Disney Springs, although it doesn’t have any rides and is more of a retail outlet and an area with lots of places to eat at like Planet Hollywood which we were fans of.
What To Do At Disney Hollywood Studios Orlando?
Orlando Disney Hollywood Studios is bursting with things to do, we had so much fun and spent the whole day there experiencing everything that was on offer. There are so many characters, rides, snacks and entertainment and when we visit Florida again you can bet we’ll go back.
Are There Characters At Hollywood Studios
Yes, there are characters at Hollywood Studios, in fact, there are loads of characters there and one of the busiest parks for characters. The characters are so popular they have individual wait times to see them, the Star Wars characters get extremely busy so if you’re looking to meet them try and get a slot where the wait time isn’t so long.
Characters you can meet at Hollywood Studios
- Darth Vader
- Chewbacca
- Mr Incredible and Elastagirl
- Mike from Monsters Inc
- Woody
- Jessie
- Buzz Lightyear
Above are only some of the characters you can meet at Orlando Hollywood Studios, we met them all and got photos with them, we made sure we had the memory maker package so that the Disney photographer could get some amazing photos.

Does Disney Hollywood Studios Have Rides?
We get this question a lot and I think it’s because a lot of people get Disney Hollywood Studios mixed up with Disney Springs. Disney Hollywood Studios has loads of amazing rides that you can go on. The only issue with Hollywood Studios rides is that the wait times can be quite long. Take a look at some of the best rides at Hollywood Studios below.
- The Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror
- Slinky Dog Dash
- Star Wars Rise of the Resistance
- Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
Disney Hollywood Studios in Florida has 20 rides in total and although we didn’t manage to go on them all, we will next time. The ride we would probably recommend the most would be Star Wars Rise of the Resistance, we had no idea what it would be like but we loved every second of it, just be sure to hold on to your hat!
Slinky Dog Dash is also a great ride if you like a thrill but you don’t want it to be too dramatic. We watched it go around at least 50 times while we waited in line to get a photo with Woody and Jessie from Toy Story.
Where To Eat Disney Hollywood Studios
There are a lot of restaurants to eat at in Disney Hollywood Studios but they’re a little expensive. We mainly had snacks at the parks which kept us going and to be fair if you’re busy, you won’t worry about what you’re eating.
We would suggest visiting Woody’s Lunchbox if you’re looking for something to eat, it’s some of the best food we’ve had in all parks and is well worth the money.
Can You Do Disney Hollywood Studios In One Day?
Yes. Although that’s if you don’t want to do everything. Hollywood Studios has a lot to offer and unless you have “fast passes” you won’t get everything done. Fast passes don’t apply to character meets either so you can’t get ahead with them.
If you’re looking to visit the park, I would schedule two days. However, if you don’t want to do everything, you could probably do it in one day.
Does Disney Hollywood Studios Have Fast Passes?
Disney Hollywood Studios does have fast passes. However, they’re called Genie+ and can be purchased on the Disney World app. The thing to keep in mind with the Disney fast passes is that you can only use them on select rides which means it’s important to plan your day and see what rides they work on, otherwise, you might end up very disappointed.
We didn’t get Genie+ in the end as they are between $20-$25 depending on the day and popularity of the park. They don’t work on most of the rides we wanted and you have to buy one per park. If you buy a Genie+ pass for Animal Kingdom, you can’t use it in Hollywood studios even if it’s the same day.
Is Disney Hollywood Studios Worth It?
Hollywood Studios in Orlando is worth every penny. It’s fun, exciting, there’s something for everyone, the snacks are yummy and the character meets are some of the best across all four parks.
