The currency used in Zante (Zakynthos), as well as the rest of Greece, is the Euro (€). You can use cash or use currency cards although we would suggest avoiding bank cards as there can be a charge when using them abroad. We have one from Asda which hasn’t been an issue so far.

Yes, Zante is gay-friendly. However, Zante isn’t the most progressive destination for the LGBTQ+ community so keep in mind that although you might be able to walk around Amsterdam holding hands with your partner with no issues, this might cause a few stares from people if you did the same through Zante town.
