Let’s forget about the viral cookies and standard chips that line the main streets of Amsterdam and let’s dive into some of the best foodie Amsterdam hidden gems. Some of them might be a little niche, but they are all a must-visit destination if you’re in Amsterdam for vacation.

Canela Cinnamon Rolls

We have never seen cinnamon buns with this caliber. They had a variety of flavours to pick from and they all looked delicious! We decided to go with the cookies and cream cinnamon bun and the biscoff cinnamon bun. They were amazing, top tier and honestly we are probably going to go back and get more when we visit next! They are however more of a luxury at €7.50 each but in our opinion, well worth it.

Amsterdam has a lot of different museums although most people only flock to the big ones that everyone knows about. There are loads of Amsterdam museums you won’t know about and some of the best ones we’ve visited are below!

Tulip Museum

The tulip museum is the best place to go if you love Dutch culture and the story of how tulips were put on the map. You can explore various rooms and follow the tulips rise to fame. There is also a gift shop with so many cute gifts you could spend a fortune. The Amsterdam Tulip Museum is free with the Iamsterdam card or €5 for adults, €3 for students and €10 for families.

Cheese Museum

Who doesn’t love cheese? However, did you know there is a neatly hidden cheese museum in Amsterdam that not a lot of people know about. It’s not the biggest but they have a history museum room to explore and of course a range of cheeses you can not only buy but also taste, who doesn’t love a free sample. It’s totally free to go into the history room and we suggest visiting for sure!

One can say that these are no longer hidden gems although years back there only used to be two duck stores and we continue to visit one of them, a small, hidden away duck store that has the most authentic ducks you could find.
