There are many gay areas and gay neighbourhoods in Amsterdam where you can be free and yourself, that being said most of Amsterdam is LGBTQ+ friendly and you won’t have any issues.

The heart of Amsterdam’s LGBTQ+ nightlife, home to the city’s most famous gay bars and clubs. It’s lively every night but especially on weekends.

Amstel & Kerkstraat – Classic Gay Scene

More traditional and local LGBTQ+ spots can be found around Amstel Street and Kerkstraat. These areas have a relaxed vibe with historic gay bars and cafés.
