Heathlands Hotel Bournemouth – One Star *
I stayed in the Heathlands Hotel in Bournemouth by chance when the trains were cancelled and I needed a place for the night. The room cost me £42 and I can easily say was not worth it one bit. The hotel needed a total makeover from reception all the way to the rooms.
Here’s what was wrong; the staff were rude and couldn’t care less. The room was dirty, the shower did not work, the lift felt like it was going to break once it got started and not to mention they had no worries about people standing around outside the hotel smoking weed most of the time I was there. The manager came to fix the shower but couldn’t.
Upon checkout I waited for 15 minutes to speak to someone so that I could put in a complaint, however there were no members of staff at reception or anywhere that I could ask. I would also add that the windows did not shut properly which is a huge hazard for children.
This hotel is not good for children, families, long work trips and especially holidays. The only reason I would suggest staying at the Heathlands Hotel Bournemouth is if you were homeless. That’s why we give the Heathlands Hotel Bournemouth 1 star.

Hotel Celebrity – Two Star **
We have actually looked at this hotel for a while now and decided I would stay on a work trip, boy was I disappointed? We’ve been looking at this place for a while and it cost £60 for the one night in June 2024. This is what we have to say about the place.
Here’s What Was Wrong: The rooms had to be the worst part of the entire hotel. I found reception to be clean and staff polite but as soon as I got to the room my heart sank. The decor doesn’t look like it’s been updated since the 70s. I stayed in the Benny Hill room and I’m sure he wouldn’t have like it. The room was dirty, clumps of hair around the room, dust and broken furniture and blinds.
I found pasty rubbish in the wardrobe when I went hunting for a fan. My view was of an overgrown garden and burnt-down building. The bathroom looks like it’s been updated but there was no room to actually sit on the toilet, the shower had poor water pressure and the shower head and wall had mould on them.
We only give Hotel Celebrity a 1 star as the staff were nice on the day however when we tried to sort the issues all we got told is we got what we paid for. However, the lift didn’t feel like it was going to crash to our doom, unlike other hotels such as the Heathlands. We paid £60 for the night and it was not worth it.
After getting invited back for a night stay after the terrible first night there we reevaluated their rating and they now have a 2-star rating for various reasons. Take a look at the Hotel Celebrity Bournemouth Hotel Review for more information about the hotel and what we thought about it.
